Why fast internet has been an issue here for years
We're based in Dittweiler in Kusel county. Within about 100–150 km (60–90 miles) — from the Westpfalz across the Donnersbergkreis and Kaiserslautern county into northern Saarland — fast internet is still patchy in many places. For providers, building out networks in rural areas rarely pays off, so “white spots” remain for years. That's exactly why we exist: a solution that works today, not in a few years.

Fixed installation prices — know the cost up front
Wall or balcony mount €299, full roof installation €599 — each a fixed price including setup and travel up to 30 km (about 19 miles). The internet plan is billed separately, directly by Starlink.

Is Netz Westpfalz an internet provider?
No. We're a local installation, setup and service partner. Your actual internet contract is directly between you and Starlink.
Do I have to sign up for the Starlink plan through you?
No. You sign up for the plan directly with Starlink. We help you choose, install and set up, and we keep hardware in stock for fast service.
Do I need a DSL, cable or fiber connection?
Not for Starlink. What matters is power, a suitable mounting spot and as clear a view of the sky as possible.
Does it work everywhere?
Not automatically. That's why we first check the location, possible obstructions, the mounting spot and how you'll use it.
Will I get normal Wi-Fi in the house?
Yes. The goal is that you use the internet as usual over Wi-Fi or LAN. In larger buildings, additional access points or a mesh system make sense.
Can you also connect cameras or outbuildings?
Yes, on request we plan and install additional networking or camera solutions — cameras in line with data protection rules.
What does the Starlink plan cost, and does it go up?
Since the price increase in June 2026, about €35–75 a month depending on the plan. Starlink adjusts its prices regularly; we tell you the current rates before every installation and refer you to Starlink for the plan itself.
Is the Starlink dish weatherproof?
Yes. The hardware is built for permanent outdoor use and handles rain, wind, heat and snow — a built-in heating function melts snow off the dish. On top of that, we mount it storm-proof in a suitable spot.
Am I locked into a long contract with Starlink?
No. The Starlink plan has no minimum term and can be canceled monthly; the travel plan can even be paused. Starlink's current terms apply.
How much power does Starlink use?
The standard dish usually draws about 50–75 watts — running around the clock, roughly €10–15 a month depending on your electricity rate. Starlink Mini uses considerably less. We'll go over the exact range during the initial assessment.
